Studying Sufism is experiential — combining creativity with wonder and awe.

Sufism invites us to be active participants in creation, not just bystanders watching on the sidelines.

The study of Sufism is ultimately the study of the Self and how it relates to the all-pervading reality of creation. That might sound like something separate from our day to day concerns, but it really isn't. We can enrich our lives and the lives of others by bringing that energy into directly into the world. Sufism offers a way to immerse ourselves in daily life in a way that asks us to learn from every experience we have. That's where creativity and spirituality are needed most right now.

It doesn't require you to believe in anything specific — it's more important to keep an open mind with enough space to incorporate new ideas and perspectives. You could think of studying Sufism as exercise — for our minds and spirit instead of our body. Amber Light International offers a variety of ways to engage in this study grounded in the diverse teachings of the Sufi mystic Inayat Khan, along with other teachers like Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, Samuel Lewis, Shahabuddin David Less. We hope you join us and find out more!
